Setting Up HMO Billing
Even without direct integration, you can still track claims for any HMO in SeriousMD. Here's how to get started:
Step 1. Configure Clinic HMO Settings
Go to your clinic settings by going to Clinics > Edit
Select the HMOs you accept.
Once done, these will automatically appear under Billing for easy access.
Step 2: Set Up HMO Rates
Go to Billing > Catalog
This is where you pre-save all the services, items, and packages you offer to patients.
Edit an existing service or click to add a new one.
Click on Add HMO Rates and Claims
A list of HMOs you added earlier will appear.
Enter the HMO claim amount:
Claimable Amount – Enter the amount the HMO will reimburse for this service.
Patient Co-Pay: Leave this blank unless you want to set a co-pay option.
Click Done to finalize changes.
Step 3: Start Tracking Claims
Create a bill as you normally would
Choose from the drop down and select the HMO
Click on the service/s then Save Bill
You'll now see an unsettled HMO bill
Step 4: Generate HMO Reports
Go to the Reports tab under Billing.
Select HMO Claims as the report type.
Update the other sections as needed
Click the Generate Report button.
The report will display the service, the HMO used by the patient, and claim amount.
How do I receive my claim?
Payments for HMO consultations are processed outside of SeriousMD and sent directly to you. Since each HMO has a different process, it's best to contact them directly for details.
