The billing report provides a comprehensive view of the financial transactions in your clinic/s. To help you quickly find the information you need, each report type includes specific filters, making it easier to sort and focus on the details that matter most.

Below is a quick guide to each Billing Report type and how you can make the most of their filters.

Why are these filters and report types important?

These filters and report types go beyond just listing numbers. They help you:

  • Get a clearer snapshot of your clinic’s finances

  • Understand where your income is coming from

  • Easily audit transactions

  • Track payments, claims, and services efficiently

Different Report Types

Currently there are 7 different Billing Report Types in Serious MD.

  1. Billing History

  2. Payment History

  3. Payment Method

  4. HMO Claims

  5. Catalog Report

  6. Consultation Type

  7. Invoice Breakdown

Billing History

Get the full picture! All bills created, including voided, unsettled, and partially paid bills, are listed here.

Filters available:

  • Clinic

  • Report period

  • Payment status

This is ideal when you want to review all transactions, regardless of payment status.

The Billing History can be filtered based on the Clinic, Report Period, and even based on the Status of the Payment. It’s perfect when you need to review all your transactions regardless of the payment’s status.

Payment History

Shows only the payments that have been fully made (not partial). The filter here is based on the payment date, not the billing date.

Even bills created earlier but paid within the selected range will appear.

Filters available:

  • Clinic

  • Report period

The Payment History can be further filtered based on the Clinic and the Report Period. It doesn’t display partial payments; it only shows payments that have been fully settled or cleared within the period set.

Payment Method

View transactions based on how the payment was made (e.g. Cash, GCash, Credit Card, Bank Transfer).

The filter here is based on the bill creation date, not payment date.
Filters available:

  • Clinic

  • Report period

  • Payment method

The date filter here is tied to the bill creation date, meaning it will include bills created and paid within the specified period.

HMO Claims

The HMO Claims billing report is designed for tracking HMO-related bills and claims. You can filter this based on the specific HMO and the status of the claims—if they have been cleared or settled.

Catalog Report

The Catalog Report provides the total amount of payments collected for each item in your catalog. You can further filter the result based on the status of the payment and the Catalog Entry Type:

  • Items - refers to products in your inventory like medicines or supplies

  • Services - refers to services like consultations, issuance of medical clearance/medical certificates, assessment/evaluation of patients

  • Packages - bundled sets of item/s and/or services offered together at a fixed price

These can then be further filtered by a specific Catalog Entry Name. For example, you only want to see payments under the Catalog Name Medical Certificate, the report will show only those transactions.

Consultation History

Shows total payments collected from consultations per clinic, including which patients consulted and paid.

Only bills created within the selected period will appear.

Filters available:

  • Clinic

  • Report period

Invoice Breakdown

See payments grouped by invoice, with details broken down by item or service.

Filters available:

  • Status (cleared/unsettled)

  • Payment method

  • Catalog entry name

Each item in an invoice (e.g., a consultation + a medical certificate) will be listed separately but still tied to the same patient and payment date.

In this report, you can see the patient’s name on the invoice and the date it was made.

For example, if a bill includes both a consultation and a medical certificate, each will be listed separately in separately in the report but will still appear under the patient’s name and payment date from the invoice.
