1. How do I bill patients?

  • Go to Billing

  • Create a New Bill

  • Press the Save & Send Pay Link button if you want to request patient to pay online through SeriousMD.

  • Patient will receive a link to the bill via SMS and/or email address. They click the link and checkout.

-----------------------------------------

2. Can I bill patient prior to the virtual consult?

Yes, you can. Most doctors bill their patient before doing the virtual consult to ensure that payment will be settled.

-----------------------------------------

3. What if I don't want to bill patients?

Billing is entirely optional and depends on you if you want to bill your patients or not.

-----------------------------------------

4. Does the billing automatically compute for Senior and PWD discount?

No. We recommend just creating a new service/item/package under the CATALOG tab that is specifically for it (e.g., Senior discount/PWD discount).

-----------------------------------------

5. Can I accept HMO patients?

Since billing is completely optional, it really depends on you, the Doctor.

Here’s how some of our users are currently doing it.

If a patient is able to get an LOA from the HMO, they do the virtual consult as is, but they do one of the following:

  1. They create a bill and choose the SAVE BILL option, just to be able to track the bill (You can create different catalog pricing for the different HMOs).

2. They don’t create a bill altogether.

The short answer is, if you as a doctor want to see the HMO patient, then you can. But patient getting the LOA, checking if the LOA is valid and you, the doctor, getting paid by the HMO is outside the scope of SeriousMD.

-----------------------------------------

6. How do I know the patient has settled his bill?

SMD Bot will show you a notification for each successful payment. A successful payment also automatically changes the status of the bill from SETTLE to CLEAR. Lastly, you can go to the Payouts tab to see all successful payments that are pending for payout and those that have been paid out already.

-----------------------------------------

7. Is there any additional charge? Who pays for it?

Yes. Using the Save & Send Pay Link button incurs an additional charge for the account of the patient.

Service charge: 5% + Php 75 per bill.

*Note: Service charge is subject to change without prior notice.

Why is there a Service Charge?

For every payment we receive on behalf of the doctor, a percentage of that goes to the credit card, debit card or Paymaya providers. We also incur costs in transferring these payouts to your bank account.

-----------------------------------------

8. Is patient informed of the additional charge?

Yes, it will be shown on the checkout page

*Note: Service charge is subject to change without prior notice.

-----------------------------------------

9. Patient doesn't have Paymaya or a debit/credit card, how should he/she pay?

They can also pay using Gcash. We're constantly adding new payment integrations.

-----------------------------------------

10. Patient is requesting for an Official Receipt. What should I do?

For a billing transaction, you, the doctor, should issue the Official Receipt for the amount that you charge the patient.

We, on the other hand, can issue a separate Official Receipt for the service charge that we add on the amount you charge the patient.

-----------------------------------------

11. How do I receive my PF?

To receive the patients' payment, kindly add your bank details under Settings > Payout Information (or click here to go to the page directly)

Which banks do you accept? All major banks like BDO, Metrobank, BPI, Unionbank, RCBC, PNB, AUB, Sterling, East West etc.
