When printing using Airprint, the printer dictates the paper size. The paper size is saved within the printer.
In this case, you'll just need to quickly configure the paper size.
Please try this:
Open the HP Smart app
Go to Advanced Settings

4. Tap Tray and Paper Management
5. Check the "Large" paper size
6. Set it to US Letter, then click Apply.

Suggestions for that printer:
Make the half page paper or A5 lie down horizontally, like how you insert a whole bond paper
- On your iOS device, please select Half page.
- Then press Print.
