You can set the maximum number of patients who can book each of your clinics per day. Once that number is reached, patients can no longer book that clinic online for that day.
Note: This is optional. If you leave the Booking Limit blank, nothing changes and bookings work the way they do now.
Set it on web. The Booking Limit is set from SeriousMD on web. If you use the iOS app day to day, you only need to open web once to set it up.
How to set your booking limit
Step 1: Go to Clinics and click Edit on the clinic you want to limit.
Go to Clinics (https://seriousmd.com/doctor/app/clinics).
Step 2: Scroll to "What's your schedule?" and type a number under Booking Limit for each day.
Each clinic day has its own limit, so you can set 10 on Mondays and 5 on Saturdays. The limit covers the whole day, including all the timeslots you have that day.
Your Online Clinic has the same Booking Limit column.
Step 3: Click Save
Repeat for each clinic you want to limit.
What counts toward the limit
Consultation requests from NowServing. A request takes a spot as soon as the patient sends it, even before you accept it.
Patients added to the queue, whether by you or your secretary.
What happens when the limit is reached
Patients can't book that clinic online for that day.
You and your secretary can still add patients to the queue. You'll see a red "slots used" counter as a heads-up when adding a patient, but Save works as usual.
How a spot opens up again
A spot is freed when an appointment is:
Cancelled
Marked No-Show
Removed with Remove Appointment (Calendar › ⋯ on the patient › Remove Appointment)
How it works with your Latest Booking Cutoff
Your Latest Booking Cutoff (Clinics › Clinic Settings) still applies. Here's how the two work together:
Online booking for that day closes at whichever comes first: the limit is reached, or the cutoff time passes.
If a spot opens before the cutoff, patients can book it online again.
If a spot opens after the cutoff, it stays closed online. You or your secretary can still fill it by adding a patient to the queue.
Example: Your clinic opens at 9:00 AM, your limit is 5, and your cutoff is 24 hours before the clinic starts. Online booking closes at 9:00 AM the day before, or earlier if 5 patients book first. If a patient cancels that evening, the spot does not reopen online, since the cutoff has passed.
FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
I use the iOS app. Can I still use this? Yes. Set the limit once on web. After that it applies to all online bookings for that clinic.
What if I leave it blank? No limit. Bookings work exactly as before.
Will my secretary be blocked from adding patients once the limit is reached? No. The limit only stops online bookings from NowServing. You and your secretary can still add patients to the queue.
Does a pending consultation request count, even if I haven't accepted it yet? Yes. It holds a spot from the moment the patient sends it. If you decline it, or it auto-cancels after your Reply Time Guarantee, the spot frees up again.
Does reaching the limit turn off "Open for Bookings"? No. The toggle stays as it is. The limit closes online booking for that day on its own.
Can I set a limit for one specific date only? The Booking Limit repeats every week for that day. To close one specific date, switch off Open for Bookings for that clinic and date in your Calendar. See: Individual Clinic Booking Controls
