Keeping up with patient conversations while simultaneously jotting down notes can be challenging. The need to stay attentive while capturing every detail often means documentation becomes a time-consuming task that piles up by the end of the day.
That’s where the SeriousMD AI Assistant comes in. Currently in its beta phase, this tool is specially designed to assist you during face-to-face consultations by transcribing and summarizing patient conversations in real time.
Ready to give it a try? 👀 Here’s how:
Step 1: Open a patient’s record.
Step 2: Click on AI Assistant | Beta found at the top of your screen.
Step 3: Hit the Start button to begin.
Step 4: After the consultation, click the Pause button. The assistant will then work on summarizing your conversation.
Note: Generating the summary may take a few minutes, especially after longer consults.
Step 5: Once the summary is ready, tap the plus (+) icon and choose SOAP Note from the options. You may actually have your SOAP note already open while you're using the AI assistant feature.
Step 6: Select Create SOAP to automatically insert the summary into your note.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What happens to the raw audio or transcription after a consultation?
We discard the raw transcription once the summary is generated. It is not stored, saved, or used to train the AI. Your consultation data remains private and secure.
What if I forget to save the summary and close the window?
The summary is not automatically saved. If you close the window without saving, the data will be lost. Be sure to insert it into your SOAP Note before closing.
Does this feature work during teleconsultations?
While it’s possible to use the AI Assistant for virtual consults, it’s currently optimized for in-person consultations. The AI can clearly hear your voice, but it may not fully capture the patient’s side of the conversation in an online setting.
Is the AI Assistant 100% accurate?
While the assistant is trained to understand medical conversations, it’s still AI—so we recommend reviewing and editing the summary before saving it to ensure accuracy.
Can I use this with patients who speak in a local dialect?
The AI currently performs best with English or Taglish. It can also understand Bisaya.
